Birdwatching activity 
The birdwatching is one of the most important activities within Dumbravita protection area. This area is annually visited by various groups of tourists from different countries to see the birds, plants and the beautiful landscapes. The caretakers of the area are preparing a plan / guide for the guidance of the ecotourism including birdwatching. Only the “nature friendly” types of tourism will be implemented here. The tourism also has an important ecological education role within the area.
The last years the caretakers were achieved some facilities for birdwatchers, such as: rehabilitation of the paths and of the dam roads within fishponds area, assembling informational panels, printing leaflets etc. Other such activities and facilities are also planning for the next years.
The main facilities for visiting the area are:
- Two parking areas. One of them is situated near the entrance from fishpond no. 12 for the tourists who came from Halchiu – Satu Nou. The second one is located near the fish farm building which is situated near the reservoir dam (this could be used by tourists who came from Dumbravita village)
- Paved routs on the dams within the fishponds area including the main visiting route
- General bilingual information panels describing in details the area and its importance. These panels are placed in the main visiting points and near the entrances
- Bilingual information panels on specific locations describing the bird species which could be observed on the visiting routes
- Different information materials for each tourist describing the area (leaflet, booklet, identified bird species list, map). These materials could be accessed from the office of Doripesco caretaker from Halchiu or from the fish farm building near reservoir (on the north – eastern corner)
- If necessary a local guide for birdwatching or for other ecotourism forms The birdwatching visiting within Dumbravita area could be combined with visiting other interesting objectives in Brasov County, such as: surrounded villages with their attractions (described on the “Presentation of the area” section), the lakes and fishponds from Rotbav (another important birdwatching and angling area on the Brasov – Sighisoara way), the churches and fortress from Feldioara, Rotbav and Codlea, the historical centre of Brasov, the fortress from Rasnov and Bran, the rural area, fortress and churches within Saxon villages on the Brasov – Sighisoara way etc. For any information about the organizing of the birdwatching in this area, please contact the caretakers :
