The caretakers of the area have started an ecological educational and leisure program for children beginning on October 2008. The program is in cooperation with TUMBA (www.tumba.ro) and will be diversified in 2009. The first group of children visited the area on October 29th when several activities were done: birdwatching, plant and landscape observation, interactive activities on ornithology and environmental protection. The children have drown the main observed bird species and the typically landscapes and at the end of the visit a summary of the day has done. The caretakers offered several materials about the area and ROS, including the journal “About the birds” published by ROS. Children were very happy because they have seen many new birds and beautiful landscapes, they have learnt a lot of things about nature and environmental protection and because the excursion was great.
